October 31, 2008 - Reflection at the end of October 2008
While waiting to be picked up by mom and dad to come home, I just attended Friday Night with the preacher Mr. Stephen Metcalfe. He talked about a question, “What do we have to do when people around you do the wrong thing and you are not into do that wrong thing?”
He gave out an outline. In the decision-making process, we would better not to use our emotions and feelings to determine something. Because you’ll do not know what is right for you and what exactly you want to do for your life. You do not have principles to live. It is better you make decision based on something that is right rather on emotions and feelings.
Suddenly I remember a guy who made decision based on his feelings for his girlfriends. Quite cruel.
But this issue has been over hundreds of years: people determine their own way by their feelings and emotion. For your caution, HEART and FEELING are different. They are not twins. Even they are not brothers. They are strangers to each other. So it is totally different. I cannot explain, but feelings always change from time to time. And it could be wrong when it comes for decision-making.

MYC Residence // Dormitory Second Floor
“Please be silent, if you do not want to do so, Mr. Met will get angry.”
While sitting down on a couch in second-floor living room, I heard a security woman said so. That night was so noisy, it was almost 12AM, the quiet time, but the girls were so excited with their friend who had her age added up 1 year.
I really do not mind about the noisiness for now, but I do mind about what the woman’s saying. When she said so, that means she was using authority upon someone else’s name. Was she afraid of herself? Why didn’t she say, “Please be silent. It is quiet time already, your friends are getting sleep. Keep that in mind.” Instead of, “Mr. Met will get angry.”. So if there was no Mr. Met, she would not have said that they should be silent instead of noisy?
People nowadays are not very confident of themselves. They are afraid to be mistaken. Argh. Am I one of those? I often manipulate myself to go out from problems. Unconsciously I often mistake my friend for what I have done. I know I should not have done some kind like that but, the fact is, people including me are afraid to be mistaken, afraid for their self-image and proud fall down in a second for the mistake they make.
But if we confess that we are wrong, that means we let our pride down in front of someone, or people. What side we should stand for?
